Ivan Dimitrov: at the Baraccano a show between Nativity, sculpture, and painting

From 12 December to 6 January, the Sala Museale Possati at the Baraccano Complex in Bologna hosts “Antologica”, a solo exhibition by Ivan Dimitrov tracing his work from the 1980s to his most recent creations.

At the center of the exhibition, the Nativity in terracotta from the Nativity collection: unique handcrafted pieces featuring the Holy Family accompanied by angels and putti. Completing the section is a large scenographic crèche, animated by numerous figures and dominated by a medieval tower. Also on display is an unprecedented sculpture dedicated to the Passion of Christ.

The path continues among characters from everyday life, theater, and Commedia dell’arte, bronze and terracotta sculptures, oil paintings on the theme of toys and childhood, and etchings dedicated to flowers and views of Bologna.

The exhibition is curated by the Galleria Studio Santo Stefano and organized in collaboration with the AICS Association, with the patronage of the Santo Stefano Neighborhood of the City of Bologna.
