The MEMORIAL MUSEUM OF FREEDOM OF BOLOGNA is a great and commendable initiative combining the private collection of important, and in some respects, unique, second World War memories (aircraft, trains, armored vehicles, tanks, heavy artillery weapons, .) to the recall - see below the MEMORIAL - with dioramas, lights, special effects, audio recordings, means, divisions and weapons, all original, of five different war situations lived in Bologna and in the Apennines in the last stages of the war.
You can experience the emotions of being in an anti-aircraft shelter during a bombing, fighting a guerrilla fight, participating in a raid, and so on. A unique experience.
With guided tours you can admire:
Exclusive show for visitors to the Museum, "Bologna Combat" a 16mm movie. unpublished of the Liberation of Bologna taken by Edo Ansaloni on April 21, 1945;
shows of 150 photos taken by Edo Ansaloni on April 21, 1945 selected as most representative, among the more than a thousand of those days:
the MEMORIAL, with 5 original reconstructions of the most important episodes of World War II in the province of Bologna;
the collection of armored vehicles, including a Sherman, carrying troops, trucks, jeeps, amphibians, some very rare, Axis and Allies
relics of planes shot down in the area and recovered by the volunteers of the Agmen Quadratum Association;
the visit of a real train with a steam locomotive of 1910, a railroad freighter of the state "Horse 8 men 40" of 1906 used throughout Europe to transport millions of civilians to the lagoon, with an exhibition organized by A.N.E.D. on the fields of extermination and two wagons of the old railway Bologna Imola, former Veneta, built in 1906 and 1925;
a two-seater Piaggio P166 in perfect flight order.
