CASTEL SAN PIETRO TERME
CASTEL SAN PIETRO TERME Travel Guide

Castel San Pietro Terme, known by locals as Castel San Pír or Castel San Pídar, is a commune of the metropolitan city of Bologna, which is named after an ancient Basilica dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul already in Roman times.
It rises on the ancient Via Emilia, near the Sillaro stream, which divides Emilia from Romagna. The fascinating surrounding area, boasting vast plains and soft hillside landscapes, is the ideal setting for pleasant outings, hiking in the woods or wine and food routes, looking for delicacies such as the finest local honey.
Just between these valleys took place the crucial battles during World War II, which saw the protagonists of the paratroopers of the Brigade Folgore.
